WKU WOMEN'S SOCCER | Lady Toppers Make Conference USA History

10/06/2016 07:02 PM

The Western Kentucky women’s soccer team has found its way into the Conference USA record books.

The Lady Toppers have had a Conference Player of the Week for five consecutive weeks. No other C-USA program has ever achieved that feat.

The record broke after WKU junior goalkeeper Allison Leone was named “Goalkeeper of the Week” by the conference on Monday.

The streak started when freshman forward Chandler Backes was named C-USA “Offensive Player of the Week” in early September.

WKU’s next game is Friday at 7 p.m. ET against Middle Tennessee State.
