Two Western Kentucky women’s basketball teams that went to the Final Four in the 1980s returned to Diddle Arena on Saturday.

The 1984-1985 Lady Toppers, along with the 1985-1986 team were recognized during Saturday’s game against #23 Indiana.

“It brought back a lot of memories,” said former WKU player Lillie Mason.

The former players spent time talking with players on the current roster.

“Our kids know about the history here,” said WKU head coach Michelle Clark-Heard. “They know about without those teams, Western Kentucky is not who people talk about the way they talk about.”

WKU went on to beat #23 Indiana 85-74 Saturday to improve to 2-1 on the season.
