08/22/2017 06:39 PM

The WKU volleyball team is counting down the days until it plays its first regular season game.

The Lady Toppers’ opening day will take place on Friday in the Miami (OH) Tournament, where they will face both Southern Illinois and Miami (OH).

“We’re excited to see what we can become,” said head coach Travis Hudson. “We have all the pieces to have a pretty special season.”

Last season, WKU finished the year with a 30-3 overall record, winning its sixth-straight regular season Conference USA championship. It also won the C-USA Tournament Championship for the third-straight year.

WKU enters the season as the favorite to win the C-USA Championship again.
