WKU Football | Defense worn down in the second half
09/22/2015 11:30 AM
This is a different week for WKU football. For this first time this season, the Hilltoppers are dealing with a loss on their resume.
Western Kentucky was leading Indiana by 11 points at the break last Saturday, but it fell apart in the second half. The Hoosiers scored 21 straight points, thanks in part to a pair of Brandon Doughty interceptions, to grab a 38-28 lead.
Then, after WKU had cut the Hooisers lead to three points, Western could not get the ball back, as Indiana ran out the final six minutes of the game.
WKU is 2-1 and prepares for a visit from Miami of Ohio Saturday at 3:30pm ET/2:30 CT. Indiana is 3-0 and plays at Wake Forest Saturday at 12:30pm ET.
