WKU FOOTBALL | Take-aways from Red vs White Spring Game

04/24/2017 05:32 PM

The Western Kentucky football program held its annual spring game over the weekend, and despite some muggy conditions the Hilltoppers put on a show for the fans in attendance.

In his first year as the head coach, Mike Sanford finally got to display his own high powered offense, and several players jumped off the stat sheet. Quinton Baker was just one such player, racking up an impressive three touchdown runs, all of which were 38 yards or longer.

A veteran even got in on the action. Former wide receiver Taywan Taylor holds multiple records in a WKU jersey, and took a break from training for the NFL to come watch his friends and former teammates. But it was just too hard to be confined to the sidelines for Taylor. He ended up logging a touchdown catch in his street clothes, and yes, they counted it on the scoreboard.
