WKU FOOTBALL | QB Mike White added to Maxwell Award Watch List

You can add senior quarterback Mike White to the Maxwell Award watch list it was announced Monday. The Maxwell Award is given annually to the nations’s top player.

White, who will be starting his second season as the top signal caller in Bowling Green, is coming off a season which saw him named C-USA Newcomer of the Year. White started his career at South Florida before transferring to WKU.

Also, fifth-year senior Marcus Ward was named to the Allstate American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team watchlist. The Good Works Team honors student-athletes for their community service and volunteer efforts.

Ward, who suffered a season-ending injury vs Alabama, is expected to be a leader on the defensive side of the ball for head coach Mike Sanford’s inaugural team on the hill.

WKU opens their season on Saturday, September 2nd as they welcome in-state foe Eastern Kentucky to Bowling Green.
