WKU FOOTBALL | Nick Saban showing respect to Hilltopper offense

The Western Kentucky Football team rocked the Rice Owls in their season opener, but their second game of the season could not be any more difficult. Jeff Brohm is taking his team to Tuscaloosa to play the top-ranked team in the nation, Alabama. In their own season opener, the Crimson Tide won by a larger margin over another ranked opponent than WKU did over Rice, holding no. 20 USC to just two field goals.

Jeff Brohm’s offense put up over 600 yards on the Owls, but knows he is ready to square off with the best coach in college football.

Brohm also has the added challenge of making sure quarterback Mike White understands the difficulties in Saturday’s game. He proved he a more than capable game manager and play maker in WKU’s first game. He threw for over 500 yards and three touchdowns. But there is not a whole lot he can do to prepare for the size and speed he will be up against in the Alabama defense.

The spread is roughly four touchdowns in favor of Alabama, but Tide coach Nick Saban is not taking Western lightly at all. The ‘Tops surprised some of their own fans with last Thursday’s performance, and Saban showed the Conference USA club some respect by acknowledging their returning talent and playmakers on offense.
