WKU FOOTBALL | Hilltoppers rally to beat FAU
11/07/2015 05:59 PM
Brandon Doughty threw four touchdowns passes and also caught a touchdown pass as the Hilltoppers rallied from 7-0 and 14-10 deficits, to defeat Florida Atlantic 35-19.
Doughty only threw for 273 yards, a very low total for the graduate QB, but that was offset by the WKU running game. Louisville Central’s Anthony “Ace” Wales ran for 135 yards and D’Andre Ferby picked up 92 yards, as the ‘Toppers were able to keep the ball away from the Owls.
The often criticized Western defense only allowed one second half touchdown to help WKU put the game away in the second half. With the victory, the Hilltoppers stay unbeaten in Conference USA, improving to 8-2 overall, 6-0 in the conference. FAU falls to 2-7, 2-4 in conference.
The ‘Toppers take next weekend off, and then play at Florida International on Saturday November 21st. The time for that game has not yet been set.
