WKU BASKETBALL | Robinson Leaves Program... For the Second Time

09/18/2017 07:33 AM

The Mitchell Robinson era is over at WKU, for the second time.

Spectrum News Kentucky confirmed on Sunday night that the five-star recruit has left the Hilltopper men’s basketball program yet again.

The news comes on the heels of a Scout.com report from Evan Daniels on Sunday that said Robinson left the program to train and prepare for the NBA Draft.

Robinson was granted his release from the Western Kentucky program back on Aug. 1. That decision came the same week Robinson was indefinitely suspended by WKU head coach Rick Stansbury for a violation of team rules.

Later in August, Robinson returned to campus and enrolled in classes for the fall semester.

But now, it appears that his WKU career is truly finished.

Robinson was the highest rated recruit in WKU men’s basketball history.
