WKU Basketball Grinds Out 75-63 Win Over FAU

02/09/2018 12:17 AM

Coach Rick Stansbury tried something different in the first half of the game against FAU, adding Josh Anderson to the starting line up and playing smaller, but when some careless mistakes turned an eight point lead to one at the half, he went back to what has worked for the Toppers: feeding Justin Johnson and Dwight Coleby in the paint.

Coleby scored 15 and Johnson 12, but it was Taveion Hollingsworth who lead WKU with 20 points. This despite having a broken nose and wearing a face mask. Stansbury explains why that didn’t slow the WKU freshman down.

Both Hollingsworth and Darius Thompson had four fouls each, but they both continued to play throughout the game, both with 37 minutes. Justin Johnson separated a shoulder with six minutes left, but came back into the game after popping it back in and played for the last four minutes.

Every player who played put points on the board.
