The Hilltopper baseball team holds a special place in the heart of Western Kentucky University President Gary Ransdell. After sending two sons through the baseball program, and being an avid fan of the sport, President Ransdell now finds himself in the press box several times a season doing the color commentary for the Western radio broadcast. Ryan Dearbone caught up with Ransdell during last weekend’s series against Louisiana Tech.

The Hilltopper’s earned a victory in game one of the three game series 6-3 before dropping the final two games to LA Tech. WKU is now 18-13 on the season, 6-6 in Conference USA, and are will play at in-state rival Louisville on Tuesday night. The Hilltoppers then head on the road for a three game series at Rice this weekend.
