Why do we have to wait so long for the ACC Network?

On Thursday the ACC and ESPN announced the formation of the ACC Network. The digital network starts this year and is available on the ESPN GO App. But fans are going to have to wait 3 years until the launch of the TV network in 2019.
When the SEC Network launched in 2014 a promotional campaign was launched by ESPN urging viewers to call their local tv providers and ask for the SEC Network. Its possible ESPN has a different strategy in mind for the new ACC Network.
CN|2 Sports talked with ESPN 680’s Drew Deener, who is at ACC Media Days in Charlotte, and he tells us why 2019 might be the ideal time for the ACC and ESPN to launch their new sports network.
