UofL WOMEN'S BASKETBALL | Cards Rally To Avoid Upset

The No. 8 Louisville women’s basketball team came from behind to beat Western Kentucky 68-61 on Sunday afternoon.

The Cardinals (8-2) trailed the Lady Toppers (5-4) by the score of 52-44 heading into the fourth quarter, before outscoring WKU 24-9 in the game’s final quarter.

Three Cardinal players scored at least 15 points in the contest, led by both Asia Durr and Myisha Hines-Allen, who each had 16 points. In fact, Hines-Allen had a double-double after collecting 11 rebounds.

The other UofL scorer in double-figures was Sydney Zambrotta with 15 points.

The Cardinals led the Lady Toppers in multiple stat categories on Sunday. They out-rebounded WKU 41-25 and doubled up WKU in assists, 22 to 11.

The Lady Toppers were led by Ivy Brown’s performance of 12 points and nine rebounds.

Louisville will be looking for its third straight win when it hosts South Dakota St. on Wednesday evening inside the KFC Yum! Center. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET.

Meanwhile, WKU will look to bounce back Thursday when it hosts Lipscomb. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. ET in Bowling Green.
