UofL WOMEN'S BASKETBALL | A Three Seed in the NCAA Tournament
03/14/2016 08:41 PM
The Louisville Cardinals got what they wanted, sort of. Women’s Head Basketball Coach Jeff Walz was hoping for a path that would’ve kept UofL in the Bluegrass. Instead, the Cards will have to travel if they win their first two games.
UofL, as a three seed, will host (14)Central Arkansas Friday at 2:30pm ET in the YUM Center. Should the Cards win that contest, they would host, on Sunday (Time TBA), the winner of the Friday game between (11)James Madison and (6)DePaul.
Should the Cards advance to the Sweet 16, they were hoping to be put in the Lexington Regional. Instead third seeded Kentucky has been sent there. If UK Hoops keeps winning, the Cats would play their first four games at home, before advancing to the Final Four in Indianapolis. Meanwhile Louisville has been placed in the Dallas Regional, along with Top Seed Baylor, Number Two Oregon State and fourth seeded Texas A&M (the host squad).
Again, it all gets started for the Cards and Central Arkansas Friday at 2:30pm, following the noon tip between James Madison and DePaul. Tickets are on sale right now. All games will be televised on the ESPN Networks.
