UofL WOMEN' BASKETBALL | Cards move on to ACC Tournament Semifinals
03/04/2016 11:02 PM
Coming into Friday Night’s ACC Tournament Quarterfinal game against Georgia Tech, UofL knew it was in for a physical battle. And that’s how the game went down as Conference Player of the Year Myisha Hines-Allen went down hard and banged up her shoulder. However the Sophomore Forward was able to shake it off, going for a game high 22 points, along with 13 rebounds, as Louisville eliminated GA Tech 60-50.
A 9-0 run in the second quarter proved to be the difference. That and stingy defense that shut down the Yellow Jackets offense for some four minutes near the end of the half.
Mariya Moore finished with 11 points, while Cortnee Walton, playing with an injured finger, still pulled down 11 rebounds. We spoke with all three players after the game.
Louisville is now 25-6 and next plays Saturday afternoon in the Conference Semifinals against Syracuse winner. That game starts at 2:30pm ET.
