UofL BASKETBALL | Fighting Irish Fight Off #12 Cardinal Women's Team

The number seven-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish women’s basketball team took care of business against a 12-ranked Louisville squad, defeating the Cards in South Bend 85-66 for the tenth consecutive time.

Junior forward Myisha Hines-Allen was out due to injury. Senior guard Briahanna Jackson who left the game early with back spasms.

Louisville’s starting line-up consisted of Courtnee Walton, Mariya Moore, Kylee Shook, Briahanna Jackson and Asia Durr.

Durr led all scorers with 31 points, three assists and six boards. Moore finished with 18, one block, one steal, four assists and seven rebounds.

UofL shot 45.5% from the field and 35% from behind the arc. They were 9/12 behind the free-throw line. The Cards had 16 turnovers in the game.

Notre Dame had five players in double-figures led by Arike Ogunbowale with 22. She also had one steal, three assists and three rebounds. Former Miss Kentucky Basketball, Erin Boley started for the Irish, finishing with five points and five rebounds.

The Fighting Irish shot 50% from the field and had just three turnovers the entire game.

Louisville falls to 20-5 and is now on a two-game losing streak. They take on Virginia Tech Thursday on the road at 7:00 p.m.
