Although you probably already marked your calendars, the Louisville-Kentucky basketball game is now officially set for Dec. 27. But this year, the game will be a part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Shootout with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Basketball Hall of Fame.
“The Louisville and Kentucky rivalry is one of the best in college basketball,” said John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, in a statement released by UofL. “It’s an honor to be a part of this event and we are thankful for the continued support.”
Kentucky leads the series 32-15, including a pair of wins last season. Louisville fell to the Wildcats 73-66 at Rupp Arena on Dec. 28, and the Cats bested the Cards again on March 28 in Indianapolis at the Midwest Region semifinals.
The 2014 match-up will be televised on ESPN2 with a tip off time to be set later.
