UofL MEN'S BASKETBALL | Mitchell Named to National Watch List

10/18/2016 07:00 PM

Louisville sophomore guard Donovan Mitchell has been named to the 2017 Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award watch list.

Mitchell is one of 20 players across the country on the list.

During his freshman season, Mitchell averaged 7.4 ppg and 3.4 rpg. He scored in double digits 13 times last season.

Mitchell is one of only two ACC players represented on the watch list. The other player is Duke’s Grayson Allen.

The list of 20 will be narrowed to ten by mid-February. Then, in March, five finalists will be presented to Jerry West and the Hall of Fame’s selection committee.

The winner of the award will be chosen in early April.
