UofL FOOTBALL | Stacy Thomas an impact player for 2016

09/04/2016 01:09 PM

Louisville junior linebacker Stacy Thomas underwent a non-football related injury earlier this year, and it kept him out of the majority of preseason camp. It would have been excusable for him to slightly under-perform, but he did exactly the opposite. The inside linebacker paced the U of L defense in tackles, boasting seven total in Louisville’s 70-14 season opening win over Charlotte.

Those tackles happened on both defense and special teams despite limited playing time because of the defensive schemes used by coordinator Todd Grantham. After the game, Bobby Petrino and Todd Grantham praised Thomas for his effort and say they were proud of the way he performed and expect big things from him this season.
