UofL FOOTBALL | Sheldon Rankins is built for NFL success

Sheldon Rankins has been the cornerstone to Louisville Football’s defense. The athletic 300 pound defensive lineman has 44 tackles on the season, nine for a loss, five and a half sacks, and who could forget the 46 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown that let Rankins show off his “running back abilities.”

Rankins is on the fast track to playing on Sundays with his lateral quickness, ability to take up multiple blockers, and ability to pressure opposing quarterbacks. U of L defensive coordinator Todd Grantham talked about Rankins’ in game abilities, and knows when they are coupled with his work ethic, he is bound for success in the NFL.

His well rounded defensive abilities made Rankins a worthy invite to the The Senior Bowl. An invite that Rankins has already accepted.
