UofL FOOTBALL | Preparing for Life After Lamar Jackson

01/13/2018 08:37 PM

Earlier this month, Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson declared for the 2018 NFL Draft, ending his career as one of the greatest players, if not the greatest, in Louisville football history.

Jackson, the 2016 Heisman Trophy winner, rewrote the Cardinal record books and now owns 42 school records.

Head coach Bobby Petrino spoke on Saturday afternoon about Jackson’s decision to declare for the 2018 NFL Draft:

Petrino also talked about a possible way the program could honor Jackson:

With Jackson gone from Louisville, it appears as though Jawon “Puma” Pass will likely be the starting quarterback for the Cardinals next season.

Pass appeared in multiple games for the Cardinals during the 2017 season. He finished the year going 23-of-33 for 238 yards passing, along with one passing touchdown. He also had 62 rushing yards on 13 carries, including one rushing touchdown.

Pass spoke on Saturday about what he learned from Jackson:

Louisville opens up its 2018 regular season on Sept. 1 against national champion Alabama in Orlando, Fl.
