UofL FOOTBALL | Petrino focused on growing Lamar Jackson's pocket presence

04/05/2016 03:04 PM

Lamar Jackson had a breakout freshman campaign for the University of Louisville Football team last season. He proved to the world exactly how athletic he is by breaking numerous program records. He holds the program record for most single game rushing yards by a quarterback, a mark he broke three separate times in 2015 including his 227 rushing yard performance in the Music City Bowl.

The Cards still have a couple more weeks of practice before the spring game on April 16. For Jackson, the focus in spring ball has been developing his presence in the pocket, forcing him to think throw before run, and work on his exchanges with U of L’s deep committee of running backs.

We brought in a former Cardinal quarterback to discuss just how important that exchange is, and he expects Jackson to make his biggest improvements this offseason.
