UofL FOOTBALL | Once again it's not pretty but a win is a win

For the second straight week the UofL Cardinals were not always clicking on all cylinders. The defense uncharacteristically gave up two long touchdown passes, thanks to poor tackling and bad angles. The Special Teams had a kick blocked for the second straight week. The offense sputtered at times, and three different quarterbacks were used. However at the end of the day, Louisville got out of Winston-Salem with a 1 point 20-19 victory over Wake Forest.
With the victory, The Cardinals have their first winning streak of the season. The second straight win ups UofL’s record to 4-4 overall, 3-2 in the ACC.
The offensive star for the Cardinals was Jamari Staples. The junior Wide Receiver had 10 catches for a game high 133 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively the entire unit takes a bow. Six times the Demon Deacs had the ball in the second half. Five of those possessions ended in turnovers (four UofL interceptions and a fumble).
The Deacs 5th loss in 6 games drops their record to 3-6 overall, 1-5 in the conference. Louisville’s next game is Saturday November 7th when the Cardinals host Syracuse in a 12:30pm kickoff.
