There is nothing quite like a players perspective when trying to understand the game of football. The hours of position group and team meetings, film sessions, and of course the on-field experience doesn’t just disappear when their playing careers are over. And thankfully cn|2 Sports was able to draw on the experience of one of those former players to break down his former position group.

Dexter Heyman played linebacker for U of L from 2008-2011 and says he has high hopes in the group starting for the Cards this season. Keith Kelsey is a team captain with three years of experience and Devonte Fields is the highest projected draft pick from U of L in next year’s NFL draft. So when we asked what makes them so effective at their position, Heyman was quick to give a lot of credit to their nose tackle, DeAngelo Brown

Garrett Moore

Garrett is a Sports Producer for Spectrum News. He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State and got his start as a sports photographer.
