Lamar Jackson proved to be the best individual in college football last year by earning multiple player of the year awards, including the coveted Heisman Trophy.

However, Jackson is now starting to earn some recognition for his efforts off the field. The junior QB is one of 146 players nominated for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. It commends student-athletes for the volunteering and other various community service efforts.

Jackson spends time visiting patients in local hospitals, volunteering at elementary schools and after-school programs, and helping out at U of L football camps.

The final roster of 22 athletes is revealed in September. The roster consists of 11 FBS athletes, and 11 students from other four-year institutions.

A final roster of 22 award recipients — 11 players from FBS teams and 11 from other four-year college programs — will be unveiled in September.
