UofL FOOTBALL | Jackson Named Semifinalist For National Award

Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson has been named one of 16 semifinalists for the 2017 Davey O’Brien Award.

The Davey O’Brien Award recognizes the nation’s top quarterback.

UofL’s Jackson is having another impressive season statistically.

He leads the country in total offense per game, averaging 426.3 yards per contest.

So far this season, Jackson has accounted for 3,837 yards of total offense, along with 32 touchdowns. Through the air, Jackson has thrown for 2,808 yards and 18 touchdowns. Meanwhile, on the ground, Jackson has rushed for 1,029 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Jackson will be hoping to add to those stats this Saturday when his Cardinals host Virginia at 3:30 p.m. ET inside Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

The 2017 Davey O’Brien Award winner will be announced on Thursday, Dec. 7.
