UofL FOOTBALL | Game Rewind: Louisville and Clemson's Saturday Thriller

10/03/2016 07:04 PM

The Louisville Cardinals (4-0, 2-1) lost a 42-36 thriller Saturday night to the Clemson Tigers (5-0, 2-0).

As a result, the Cards dropped to #7 in this week’s AP Top 25 Poll. Meanwhile, the Tigers jumped up to #3 in this week’s poll.

The Cardinals may no longer control their own destiny in the ACC Atlantic Division, but, they are not out of the College Football Playoff discussion just yet.

Saturday night’s contest came down to the wire. The Cards were trailing 42-36 inside the final minute of the game. In fact, U of L was at the Clemson 14-yard-line facing fourth down and 12. Lamar Jackson completed a pass to James Quick. Quick was then stopped short of the first-down marker, resulting in a turnover on downs. Clemson then ran out the clock.

Louisville returns to action Friday, October 14th at home against Duke.
