UofL FOOTBALL | Former Card Dexter Heyman takes us through game week preparation

With just a few days until the season officially starts for the University of Louisville football team, there is an increased attention on making sure players are healthy. That will be a tall task throughout a grueling ACC schedule. But coaches and players have been working hard all summer to be in the best shape possible, and will rely on the lessons learned in practice when the season picks up.

Former U of L linebacker Dexter Heyman was in studio and talked about staying healthy during the season, and the change in mindset that comes with the first game of the season.

Garrett is a Sports Producer for Spectrum News. He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State and got his start as a sports photographer. He now produces Sports Night, the state’s only nightly show dedicated to in-depth coverage of all sports in Kentucky. Sports Night airs weeknights at 6:30 and 10:30 on Spectrum News. Outside the station, Garrett enjoys golfing, hiking, fishing, and prides himself on being all-in as a sports spectator.
