UofL FOOTBALL | Examining the Cardinal recruiting class

02/02/2017 07:00 PM

The University of Louisville football signing class was one of the best of Bobby Petrino’s coaching career, and was highlighted by a half dozen 4-star recruits.

The class had 22 signees and was ranked in the top-35 nationally according to the four major recruiting recruiting services. Rivals has the Cards ranked 28th, ESPN ranked U of L 29th, Scout ranked them 31st, and 247 Sports listed Louisville as 32nd in the country.

The most notable position the Cards were pursuing is the offensive line, and the coaching staff nailed five highly sought-after recruits. Perhaps most notably was Mekhi Becton who committed last minute, making the Cardinal coaches hold their breath.
