07/26/2017 06:12 PM

The Louisville football players are back and ready to go.

The Cardinals reported for the start of camp on Wednesday, taking part in various meetings before having dinner as a team.

Early in the afternoon, UofL head coach Bobby Petrino talked to the media. He spoke with them about why his Cards will begin practice on Monday, despite having already arrived for camp.

The Cardinals open up the season on Saturday, Sept. 2 at Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium, where they will face the Purdue Boilermakers. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
