UofL FOOTBALL | Bobby Petrino knows who will start at QB, but again isn't telling

09/15/2015 06:30 AM

LOUISVILLE – Head Cardinal Bobby Petrino met with reporters after Monday night’s practice to review the Saturday night loss to Houston and preview Thursday’s ACC opener against Clemson. One of the big takeaways is that Bobby is back to preseason form in that he is not announcing his starting QB. He says he likely knows who will start at quarterback but did not want to publicly make the announcement before watching tonight’s film and letting the players know first.

Freshman Lamar Jackson got the start for U of L against Houston, but after a couple interceptions and overthrown passes, Jackson was benched and sophomore Kyle Bolin got the nod. Bolin quickly led the Cards on two touchdown drives but came up just short of the win in the final minute of the game. At the press conference today, Coach Petrino had only good things to say about the way Bolin stepped up when his number was called.
