UofL FOOTBALL| Are satellite camps good for Louisville Football?

05/10/2016 09:29 PM

College programs across the country are jumping on the satellite camp bandwagon these days. After being popularized by University of Michigan Head Coach Jim Harbaugh, last month the NCAA ruled that coaches could not attend camps more than 50 miles away from their respective campuses.

That rule was short-lived however, as the governing body of college athletics reversed course just a few weeks later. Thus allowing coaches from any school to attend camps wherever, whenever, hosted by whomever. While the recent flip-flopping of the rule has college coaches deciding if and how they will let their staffs attend the camps, Louisville Head Coach Bobby Petrino hopes to use the new rules to the program’s advantage.
