UofL FIELD HOCKEY | Cards Ready for Regular Season

08/15/2017 09:10 AM

The Louisville field hockey team is counting down the days until its regular season opener.

The Cards begin the regular season on Aug. 25 at UofL’s Trager Stadium. They will face Indiana in that match-up beginning at 2 p.m. ET.

The UofL field hockey program is not only excited about that match-up though. It is also excited about what takes place at the end of the season, as Trager Stadium will be the host site for both the ACC Championship from Nov. 2-5 and the NCAA Championship from Nov. 17-19.

“It’s a golden opportunity for this program,” said head coach Justine Sowry. “We are absolutely ready to make the next step, but it is a marathon.”

Last year, the Cards went 15-6 overall. The 15 wins were the second most wins in program history. They also advanced to their third-straight NCAA Tournament.
