V.J. King is one of two commits to have signed his letter of intent to Louisville Basketball for 2016. King is a 5-star small forward for Paul VI in Fairfax, VA and the latest elite prospect Rick Pitino and his staff have convinced to play for the Cardinals.

But the convincing did not come in the form “the usual spiel” V.J. says he received from other coaches. King felt a genuine connection with he Louisville staff, especially assistant coach Kenny Johnson who led Louisville’s recruitment efforts of the ESPN top 30 player.

cn|2 Sports was granted an exclusive interview with King, who is currently headed to Charlotte, NC with his high school team to take on Word of God Christian Academy. The Panthers have started the regular season 1-0 behind a 30 point effort by King. In the interview, King talks about his relationship with fellow Cards commit Frankie hughes, and his excitement to play in front of his future home crowd when Paul VI comes to Louisville on December 20 for the King of the Bluegrass tournament.
