UofL BASKETBALL | Reports: Chris Mack Becomes New UofL MBB Head Coach

It appears as though the Louisville men’s basketball program has found its next head coach.

According to multiple reports, Xavier head coach Chris Mack will now lead the Cardinals’ program.

Mack’s deal at UofL is reportedly a seven-year deal worth about $4 million per year, according to ESPN.

Mack has been the head coach of the Xavier Musketeers since the 2009-2010 season. He has led Xavier to a 215-97 (.689) record during that span.

The Musketeers won the Big East regular season championship this past season.

Mack tweeted out the following “Thank You” note to Xavier fans on Tuesday afternoon:

Mack replaces interim head coach David Padgett, who replaced Rick Pitino after Pitino was fired in October stemming from the UofL men’s basketball program alleged link to the FBI investigation into fraud and corruption within college basketball.

The University of Louisville Athletic Association and UofL Board of Trustees have each planned meetings on Wednesday afternoon inside the KFC Yum! Center.
