UofL BASKETBALL | Quantity can add up to quality

Last year, UofL Basketball fans knew the same three or four players wuld score the bulk of the points in a game. This year is much different. With the top four scorers, Terry Rozier, Montrezl Harell, Chris Jones and Wayne Blackshear all gone, the Cards had to come up with new production.
The way this season’s team accomplishes that, is to spread the wealth, as the 19th ranked, 7-1 Cards, sometimes go 11 players deep. What that means, is there could be a different hero every night, a fifth year graduate guard perhaps, or maybe a true freshman. It is a nice position to be in, however, it also gives head coach Rick Pitino something of a dilemma at the start of games.
It will be interesting to see, as the season gets older, and the competition gets tougher, if the Cards bench gets shorter. Louisville’s next game is Wednesday when lightly regarded Kennesaw State comes to town, with a tip off of 7pm ET.
