11/28/2017 10:54 PM

The Louisville men’s basketball team fought until the end, but Purdue pulled away in the final minutes to win their ACC / Big-Ten Challenge match-up.

The Boilermakers (6-2, 0-0) ended the game on a 15-5 run in the final three minutes en route to a 66-57 victory over the No. 17 Cardinals (4-1, 0-0).

Purdue was led by forward Vincent Edwards’ 15 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, UofL was led by forward V.J. King’s 17 points.

Joining King in double-digits for Louisville was forward Deng Adel (13 points) and forward Anas Mahmoud (11 points).

Only one freshman scored in the game for UofL, as forward Jordan Nwora had three points on the night after going 1-of-5 from the field.

The stats between both teams though were pretty close. Both UofL and Purdue each scored 22 points in the paint, Louisville had 16 points off turnovers compared to Purdue’s 14 and Purdue had 13 second-chance points compared to UofL’s 10.

On deck for the Cards is a home game on Sunday afternoon against Seton Hall. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. ET inside the KFC Yum! Center.
