UofL BASKETBALL | Pitino thinks win over Notre Dame could be huge for team going forward

01/03/2017 07:00 PM

Well before the season ever started, Louisville basketball head coach Rick Pitino talked regularly about the difficult stretch of games his no. 9 Cardinals would face between December 21 and January 4. In that span, Louisville was scheduled for four consecutive ranked opponents, including Kentucky and Indiana. They are 2-1 through the first three games, and will be favored to win the fourth, which takes place tomorrow night.

The Cards head to South Bend, IN on Wednesday night to play the 23rd ranked Irish of Notre Dame. It is a chance to go 3-1 in arguably their toughest stretch of competition. Pitino held a press conference earlier today, and talked about how big of a boost beating the Irish could be.
