UofL BASKETBALL | Pitino releases statement about Kyle Kuric's diagnosis

Former University of Louisville basketball player Kyle Kuric is scheduled to undergo emergency surgery to remove a brain tumor. The tumor was discovered after Kuric went to a Barcelona hospital with a migraine. Kuric is currently a professional basketball player in Spain.

Kuric Played under Rick Pitino from 2008 – 2012. Upon hearing Kuric’s diagnosis, Pitino released the following statement:

“We’ve had some pretty big disappointments in the past few months, but nothing compares to this. Our prayers and good wishes go out for a healthy and speedy recovery for Kyle. He’s one of the finest young men that I have had the privilege to coach and our Louisville family’s prayers are with him.”

The diagnosis comes just a couple months after the birth Kyle and his wife Taraneh’s children.
