Quentin Snider had a career high 21 points, while Chinanu Onuaku finished with 12 points and 14 rebounds, as the Cardinals picKed up their first ACC road win, by beating NC State 77-72.
The game looked to be an easy victory for UofL when the Cards went on a 9-0 run in the second half. The Cardinals led by 16 with just 3:38 left. However the Wolfpack stormed back, cutting UofL’s lead to three, 75-72, when Cat Barber sank a three pointer with 16 seconds to go.
But Damion Lee, who earlier had missed a pair of free throws, sealed the deal with three seconds to go, as UofL held on for the five point victory. Lee wound up with 13 points, while Ray Spalding had 12 off the bench.
Barber had a team high 20 for the Wolfpack with Maverick Rowan adding 20.
With the win, Louisville improves to 13-2, 2-0 in the ACC, while NC State falls to 10-5, and 0-2 in conference. UofL’s next game is Sunday at Noon at Clemson.
