The No. 1 Virginia Cavaliers (27-2, 16-1 ACC) defeated the Louisville Cardinals (19-11, 9-8 ACC) 67 to 66 at the KFC Yum! Center Thursday night.

Louisville led the game for over 32 minutes, but it ended in dramatic fashion, with a last second three from De’Andre Hunter for UVA to win the game.

It was Senior Night for Cardinals point guard Quentin Snider and forward Anas Mahmoud. Snider finished with 13 points, while Mahmoud only had two points, two rebounds, and an assist in his last performance in the Yum! Center.

Junior forward Deng Adel led the Cards in scoring with 18 points, four assists and six rebounds. Junior forward Ray Spalding added 16 points and nine rebounds to go along with two blocks.

Virginia’s sophomore guard Ty Jerome led all scorers, scoring 21 points. Louisville held the Wahoo’s leading scorer Kyle Guy to ten.

In the first half, Louisville shot 66.7% from the three-point line, but finished just 6/15. Virginia dominated the points in the paint; 26-18, points off turnovers, second chance points and bench points. UVA shot 42.9% both from the field and three-point range for the game.

The Cardinals look to bounce back Saturday when they visit N.C. State. Tip-off for the final regular season game is set for 6:00 P.M. EST.
