The No. 1 UConn women’s basketball team proved on Monday why it is the number one team in college basketball.

No. 1 UConn (25-0, 12-0) got out to a 24-6 lead after the first quarter and never looked back en route to a 69-58 win over No. 4 Louisville (25-2, 11-1).

UofL now trails the all-time series against UConn with a 1-17 overall record.

Louisville guard Asia Durr led the way for the Cards with a team-high 20 points. Meanwhile, forward Myisha Hines-Allen recorded another double-double, with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

The Cards will hope to bounce back on Thursday when they take on Boston College. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET in Chestnut Hill, Ma.
