UofL BASKETBALL | Myisha Hines-Allen named ACC Player of the Year

03/02/2016 04:09 PM

Louisville sophomore forward, Myisha Hines-Allen, has been selected the ACC Player of the Year by the Blue Ribbon Panel, a collection of league Sports Information Directors and media members.

Hines-Allen has become one of the most dominant scores in college basketball, and is poised to lead her team through a tough conference tournament this weekend. Myisha is averaging 17 points per game, and grabs more than eight rebounds. She is also shooting over 54 percent from the field, and has earned ACC Player of the Week awards on three separate occasions.

Hines-Allen positioned herself alongside Angel McCoughtry (2006-07) as the only two players in school history to earn player of the year accolades.

The Louisville Women’s team has gone 15-1 in league play this season and enters the ACC Women’s Tournament as the No. 2 seed. Their first game is Friday night at 6:00pm ET, and their competition is yet to be determined.
