UofL BASKETBALL | Motion to "start the 'for cause' termination process" on Rick Pitino

10/02/2017 03:14 PM

The UofL Athletic Association Board voted unanimously on Monday to “start the ‘for cause’ termination process” on Louisville men’s basketball head coach Rick Pitino.

Last week, UofL interim president Dr. Greg Postel announced that Pitino was placed on unpaid administrative leave and that his employment would be reviewed at a later time.

The move was made in response to the UofL men’s basketball program’s link to an ongoing federal investigation into fraud and corruption within college basketball.

Meanwhile, Postel said on Monday that he hopes to name an interim athletic director on Tuesday.
