UofL BASKETBALL | Mathiang and Adel Apologize To Fans

02/10/2017 06:20 PM

After breaking Rick Pitino’s curfew for the team between the 2-day turn around between the Boston College and Virginia games, Mangok Mathiang and Deng Adel were suspended for the UVA game. Dan Dakich reported that they missed curfew by four hours.

Not only were they suspended, the two did not even travel with the team to Virginia.

Mathiang was stripped of his “captain” title and given to sophomore Donovan Mitchell instead.

In their absence, Virginia dominated the Cardinals, 71-55.

Ahead of Pitino’s press conference previewing the game against Miami, the two players held their own press conference to address the mistake and apologize to fans.
