UofL BASKETBALL | Jeff Walz Named Semifinalist for Coach of the Year

Louisville women’s basketball head coach Jeff Walz has been named one of 10 semifinalists for the 2018 Werner Ladder Naismith Women’s College Coach of the Year honor.

Walz has led the No. 4 Cardinals to a program-best 27-2 start this season.

UofL will be looking to get its 28th win on Thursday when it hosts Virginia at 7 p.m. ET inside the KFC Yum! Center.

The following is the list of Werner Ladder Naismith College Coach of the Year semifinalists:

Karen Aston – Texas
Geno Auriemma – UConn
Kelly Graves – Oregon
Muffet McGraw – Notre Dame
Kim Mulkey – Baylor
Robin Pingeton – Missouri
Vic Schaefer – Mississippi St.
Joni Taylor – Georgia
Jeff Walz – Louisville
Amy Williams – Nebraska

Four finalists for the award will be announced on March 14. Meanwhile, the coach of the year will be announced on March 31.
