UofL BASKETBALL | Harlem Barber Shops Showcase Cardinal Basketball

For Louisville basketball fans visiting the ACC Tournament this week in Brooklyn, N.Y., there is a place you must check out.

Multiple barber shops in the Harlem-area feature Louisville Cardinal basketball photos and designs inside their shops.

The man who owns these “Big Russ Barber Shops” is none other than Russ Smith, Sr.

“I revamped the colors. You see the jersey. You see some of the memorabilia around,” said Smith.

Smith is the father of former UofL guard Russ Smith, who played for the Cardinals from 2010 through 2014.

His shops feature photos of his son playing Cardinal basketball along with various banners, and plenty of red and black everywhere you look.

“I think about what Louisville has done for my son,” said Smith.
