The Louisville Cardinals did as expected tonight, by pounding a sub-500 Utah Valley team 98-68. The win improved 15th ranked UofL to 11-1 on the season, but the team’s one really hard game, against top ranked Michigan State, was a loss, so the jury is still out on how good the Cardinals really are.
We will find out in a hurry because this Saturday is the annual Battle of the Bluegrass. The Cards will play at 9-2, 11th ranked Kentucky. On Saturday Louisville will be playing its third game in 5 days, while UK has been off since last weekend. It’ll be interesting to see which strategy pays off.
Cards Graduate Guard Trey Lewis was the high scorer and rebounder with 21, and 7 respectively. Quentin Snider had 15 while Damion Lee added 11. The best news, for UofL, besides the win, is that everyone appeared to get through tonight’s game healthy.
The loss drops Utah Valley to 5-8 on the season.
