UofL BASKETBALL | Former Card Tearing It Up in NBA Summer League

07/12/2017 12:20 PM

It appears that former Louisville guard Donovan Mitchell is transitioning very well to life in the NBA.

Mitchell had another big performance Tuesday night in his NBA Las Vegas Summer League game.

He scored 37 points and had eight steals in the Utah Jazz’s 84-81 overtime loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

As a result, he is averaging 28.0 ppg in the Las Vegas Summer League for the Jazz, good enough for second-best in the league, behind the Spurs’ Bryn Forbes (29.3 ppg).

Of course, earlier this month, Mitchell put up big numbers while he was playing the Utah Summer League. During his three games in that league, Mitchell averaged 15.3 ppg.

Mitchell was drafted 13th overall in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets, but was immediately traded to the Jazz.

The Jazz are back in action on Wednesday night at 8 ET against the Suns in another Las Vegas Summer League contest.
