Louisville men’s basketball is losing its leading scorer from this past season.
Cards’ junior forward Deng Adel announced on Monday that he will keep his name in the upcoming NBA Draft and that he will hire an agent, effectively ending his career at UofL.
Adel posted the following on his Instagram account Monday:
“Just want to start off by thanking my teammates, David Padgett, the whole basketball staff and CardNation!!
The past 3 years have been full of surprises but to go through it with the city of Louisville and this great university has been a blessing because it shows how resilient and supporting this city is.
I have decided to enter this years NBA Draft with an agent and follow my life long dram of becoming a professional. Thank you Louisville!!
Go Cards!”
Adel averaged 15.0 points per game during the 2017-2018 season. He also averaged 5.2 rebounds per game.
UofL men’s basketball head coach Chris Mack shared his thoughts on Adel’s decision:
Ray Spalding had previously announced he was keeping his name in the NBA Draft while also hiring an agent.
